March 2011 Klapmuts National Loft Report:
We are well into the moulting season now and given the extreme
heat waves Cape Town and the Western Cape have been experiencing
quite a number of birds seems to be moulting slightly faster than
normal. The birds in the SANPO Klapmuts National are all in excellent
health and are doing as well as birds should be doing at this
stage of the moult. Upon a visit to the loft this past week, it
was evident to me and many others that the birds in the loft are
happy, and have adjusted well to their new home. The total number
of birds is just on the 350 bird mark, with at least another 100
birds expected before end of March 2011.
The loft management team would like to thank all supporters of
the loft who continue to support the sport and wish to welcome
all newcomers to the loft of which we have had quite a few over
the past two weeks.
The birds are due to receive their booster Parrymixo vaccine this
week, which was donated to the loft by Dr. Ockert Botha (Aviomed).
Dr. Botha has also donated the loft with a batch vaccine for paratyphoid,
which will also be administered in due course.
The race programme decided upon for the 2011 Klapmuts
National loft will be as follows:
Matjiesfontein – 180 km
Koup – 240 km
Matjiesfontein – 180 km
Leeu Gamka – 320 km
Matjiesfontein – 180 km

Matjiesfontein – 180 km
Victoria West – 480 km Clock Race (Benzing Express)
Matjiesfontein – 180 km
Britstown 550 km’s – Main Race (R 60 000.00 First
Place)
The starting dates for the above indicated race programme will
be communicated in the next edition of the Klapmuts newsletter.
We have received two quotations for the transporting of the pigeons
and the loft management team will decide upon the most suitable
service provider and inform all participants in the next news
letter.
As mentioned in last month’s news letter, the new clocking
system is sure to excite all and sundry as this will alleviate
much of the administration congestion experienced in the previous
year of the Klapmuts National Loft. Again we MUST say thank you
to SANPO for taking this initiative and investing smartly in the
growth and promotion of the sport at it’s two respective
National Lofts. For more updates on the new clocking system and
related news please visit www.westerncapepigeonracing.co.za
To our two MAIN sponsors, Agricol and Medpet,
a heartfelt thanks for your continued support and promotion of
the Klapmuts National Loft. Your input and assistance are of exceptional
value to us and the Pigeon Sport in general. We know that we can
continue to count on your unwavering support of the Kalpmuts National
Loft and wish your respective businesses every success for the
2011 year and beyond. To Dr. De Beer and his team your assistance
as always is highly appreciated, your friendly and knowledgeable
staff always makes every visit to you a pleasure. Your facilities
are second to none and again the Klapmuts National Loft’s
location must surely be one of the most ideal settings for one
loft racing in South Africa.
To all our other loyal supporters, sponsors and partners TAHNK
YOU, for entrusting us with your birds once more for the 2011
