Pontool Carnival City

Preliminary forecasts indicate that a Pontool (a cross between a pontoon and a pool) at the Allflight loft could pay out as much as R5 000 per race, more in the event of a carry-over of prize money.

We plan to run a Pontoon with a difference on the following races in 2009 with a charge of R20 per pigeon per race:

The Pontool will be different from what we are used to in club or organisation races in that you may nominate more than one pigeon but in order to win the prize your bird has to win the race, in other words it has to be the 1st bird clocked on the day the race takes place.

Pontools not won will be carried over to the next race on the calendar.

If the final race is not won by a pontool bird, the first nominated pontool bird clocked in the final race wins the money.

Fanciers are encouraged to pay the entry fee up front for ease of administration and to save bank charges i.e. 6 x R20 = R120 per pigeon nominated for the pontool. You may however pay the entry fee per race and you may nominate as many pigeons as you like. You may also vary the number of pigeons nominated in each race with the proviso that in the event of a carry-over, entry fees have to be topped up to equal R20 times the number of races not previously won plus the current race at R20.

Nominations and payments for the first Pontool race on 5 June 2009 have to reach us on or before Tuesday 2 June 2009 and thereafter at least four days before each successive race. If you decide to play the Pontool and deposit money into our bank account please make sure to use your name as well as the pigeons ring number as a reference so that we know exactly which entry you are nominating.
