Only 10 days left to the first Hot Spot for the 2009 Winter Race Program, the pigeons are training very well and we have not had any major losses of 100 to 200 pigeons on a training flight like we have had in the past few years, somehow, somewhere we are doing something better than in the last few years, I can’t really say what it is just that the pigeons are in a very good shape right now and outperforming any other kit we have trained in the past. “Touch wood” we hope it lasts.

The time has now come for the pigeons to start doing the additional hours on the wing that will prepare them for that final journey planned for 10 August 2009, this is now the time for the pigeons who hit the trap the quickest to win some money back for their owners, remember that due to the support you guys gave us by entering so many pigeons we have decided to pay out the first 20 positions on the “Hot Spots” and not only the first 5 or 10 positions. The prize money on the “Hot Spots” will be:

1st - R1500, 2nd - R1200, 3rd - R1000,Pos 4th, 5th and 6th wins R800 each, Pos 7th, 8th,9th and 10th wins R600 each and Pos 11th to 15th wins R500ea with Pos 16th to 20th winning R300ea. This means that we will pay out over R60 000 just on the 5 Hot Spot races.

Unfortunately some fanciers that entered pigeons did not stick to their end of the agreements they had with management to pay off the entry fees before the end of May ‘09, these pigeons have also been removed from the clock and these fanciers will have no part in the racing season ahead of us.

On 3 June ’09 all reserve pigeons that has made it to now must be entered by paying the outstanding R300 per reserve pigeon, just give us a call should you not know how many reserves you still have, otherwise you can just keep an eye on the “Live Results Winter 2009” link on our website www.allflite.co.za where you can follow the performance of your pigeons. We will publish two results per week from now but please note that on the shorter training flights we do not leave the clock on the whole day and switch it off after we fed the pigeons.

Last week we sent out an email with a new “Pontool” we are starting from the first “Hot Spot”, many of you have already responded by paying and nominating your pigeons, for the guys that has not yet responded in short you pay R20 per pigeon per race to take part, should your nominated pigeon win the training flight it will win the money, if however we get to the final race without any nominated pigeons winning one of the 5 hot spot races the first nominated pigeon clocked on the final race will win all the price money. Your entry fee for this nomination needs to reach us not later than 3 June ’09.
