"Racing Methods Used by Rassie Erasmus"
On visiting my uncle the other day we started
talking about the incredible angling results that one of his friends
has. It doesn't seem to matter when and where he went he always
succeeds in bringing back a string of big ones. This particular
angler kept reeling in fish that were at least a foot long and then
he kept throwing them back into the water. A fisherman in a nearby
boat kept watching this with a mixture of amazement and disgust.
Finally he couldn't resist and called over to the fisherman after
he had just thrown back another fish that was over a foot long.
He shouted, "hey! why are you throwing back all those big fish?"
The answer was more disturbing than not keeping them. He replied,
"Hey! I've only got an eight-inch pan!"
So this fisherman is settling for small fish as he's only prepared
for small fish. Dumb is’nt. Now let's go to the feeding part
of our birds (the way I feed with great success ) and see if we
can pick up a much bigger pan for bigger fish. To start off I first
need to explain what I used and why I used the following.
1) Racing mix. Not high protein. The reason
is for the ingredients I use over the food. Thus a high protein
racing mixture will not work. Further more the ingredients I make
use of contains enough of everything the birds need.
2) Isomil. See all the good stuff it contains.
Just read on the container.
3) Vital brewers Yeast. Powder form.
4) Superformance. ( Magic Magic Magic stuff
)
5) Energizer oil.
6) Sunflower.
7) Peanuts. ( Long distance )
8) Barley. ( Short distance )
9) Black eye susan peas ( Long distance 800km
and above )
10) Viroban. This will be mixed later on with
Avisol. Especially long hot weather races.
11)Vitamin E oil.
With the above mentioned and mixed with the
feed it doesn't matter like whith our fisherman, when or where
he fishes, he brings back a string of big ones.
How to feed and when, will be discussed at a
later stage. Next time I will give a list of vitamins I used.
( Tip: The feeding, training, adding of
vitamins, health products and preparation goes hand in hand).
