| Article by Steve Chris Derby-Lewis Article Published 29 June 2008 On 26th April 2008, the Federated Board of Homing Unions hosted its annual pigeon show at the Boland Cricket Unions sports grounds in Denneburg, Paarl. The show was well attended with approximately 400 pigeons being benched, to compete for top honours the following day. To the administrators and organizers of this event we say well done, as the standard of judging the quality and conditions of pigeons benched, the security at the venue, and the admin was of the highest standard. The show committee wishes to thank the Public Relations Officer of the Federated Board for his tireless efforts every year in securing sponsorship prices for all the championship class winners, also decorating the hall to give this event a professional look and feel, portraying this wonderful sport of ours in a positive light to fellow fanciers and the public. We wish to thank our main sponsor, Nutroscience, who sponsored this event exclusively. To the Managing Director Mr Dirk van der Linde, and staff, we salute you for your efforts and trust the winners of the champion classes utilize the bags of pigeon feeding supplements received. Your contribution assisted in making this show a memorable one and attributed to its success.
