What started out as 5 fanciers setting of on a journey to find alternative
cheaper means of racing pigeons it ended in a spectacular year end
function attended by almost 200 members of the public.
The was a very successful season in so much that only 14 mebers
showed intrest at our first gathering and it ended up in 32 flying
fanciers for 2010,including a junior division of 6 teams racing
2 birds per race totally free of charge and thus allowing WFHU to
crown the first ever Junior champ, Butler Juniors, in our region.

WFHU also had the first ever lady fancier in our region completing
a full season of racing,winning a race and scoring in numerous other
races ending up with in the top ten in the union.

The highlight of the evening was however the crowning of the
overall champion for 2010 no other than the
Leukes Brothers of Atlantis
The Leukes brothers, Rudi, Wesley
and Ithriam together with their mother and Ithriam’s wife
holding the cup.
WFHU would love to give a VERY BIG THANK YOU to all our sponsors
who helped and supported us all the way helping to make WFHU the

WFHU has grown since from 32 members in 2010 with 6 juniors teams
to a massive 42 registered members for 2011 with 9junior teams
.Another highlight for us was being able to print our own ring,ZA
WF,indeed a proud moment and achievement for us,More good news
for us was when MDHU contacted us indicating joining hands with
us allowing us to form a combine wth about 72 members,all this
growth and prosperity in less than 2 years.
